The Horse

This year’s theme for the 154th Fair is “The Horse”, how appropriate for our rural fair.

Man has been working with and enjoying horses for over six thousand years. The role of the early horse was that of a work animal. Horses pulled guns and other military wagons, worked hard on the land and were responsible for the carriage of goods and people. The power of the horse played an important role in the conquest of continents, the development of agriculture, and the travel of people. The horse of today has been bred and crossbred to excel in specific
disciplines such as racing and speed events, sport, endurance, English, Western and driving classes.

There are over two hundred breeds of horse and pony in the world. The average horse lover can attend our fair and see a good selection of the most popular breeds in competition and displays.

So come to this years fair and enjoy the many classes and displays that will entertain and educate you about our noble friend the HORSE.
