Greetings
From 2011
Fair President

Welcome to the 156th Year of the Sutton Fair & Horse Show on August 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th, 2011.
Farming and agriculture have been a big part of my life, and I know how important it is to see this culture continue for many more generations. The same goes for our country’s small agricultural fairs. Agriculture and community involvement are what built our small towns into the beautiful country we live in today.
My family settled on our family dairy farm in 1921. Since that time, my family has been very involved in many community activities, one being the Sutton Fair. As a child, I can recall the excitement of going to the fair – showing my 4-H calf or displaying field crops. Today, the anticipation and excitement are still present – exhibitors bringing their best of vegetables, field crops, home crafts, arts, hobbies, or livestock exhibits. The familiar sound of the steam engine whistle and the buzz of the sawmill, the Entertainment Tent, the Midway, the Horse Pull, the Truck & Tractor Pull and the Demolition Derby all continue to welcome you to the fair.
Take a few moments and remember the sights and sounds of the fair. There are attractions for all ages. Fair week is more than four days filled with competition; it is a time to reconnect with old friends and family.
I would personally like to thank all the members, volunteers, exhibitors, local businesses, sponsors, service clubs, Mayor, Members of Council and staff of the Town of Georgina for all your countless contributions and generous support. And a special thank you to my family for doing all the extra work, at home, so I can be involved with our great hometown fair!
It is my honour to serve as the 2011 President for the Sutton Fair & Horse Show.
